Wouldn't you just love to spend some time creatively, with like minded women in a beautiful and inspiring setting? Let go of all the hustle, noise and chores, and enjoy something that is just for you?

In November, you can join the Creative Retreat at Plantation Jan Thiel Lodge! Two days and nights, three workshops, three activities and six meals are included in this amazing weekend.

We will be journaling, painting, making prints, talking, walking, sharing meals and relaxing. It may sound to good to be true... 😀 But it's real!

Transfering images with the gelli plate can be a real pain, I know! But it’s not impossible 😄 Knowing what kind of images and paint you can use, make all the difference!

If you love creative play, and want to try something new, this is for you! This introduction workshop will get you started with the amazing gelli printing technique, no skills or experience required!

Gelli printing is a form of mono printing, where a gelatine-like, soft plate is used in combination with acrylic paint to create unique prints. In this workshop you will learn how to choose and use your paint, add the most incredible patterns and create amazing prints. We will start from scratch with simple exercises and work towards creating a series of prints that are ready to frame on your wall, use as gift paper or add to your journal pages. Since you will need quite some space while working on your gelli plate, the number of participants for this workshop is limited to 6 persons.

Date: Saturday May 30
Time: 9.00 am – 12.00 pm
Location: the studio in Scharloo (Bitterstraat)
Costs: XCG 145,- including a drink, a little snack and all materials (including high quality acrylic paint from Talens/Amsterdam).

Price is in Caribbean Guilders and includes ob (local tax).

Flowers, plants, trees, they are my forever inspiration 🌸💕 There are many things that make me wonder, many things that move me. A lot of what I see and hear somehow influences my creative practice. Nature is however the main source of inspiration for me. The incredible systems, patterns and endless variations in colors, tones and shades… how could anyone get bored?!

It also works the other way around: when I don’t know what to create, flowers are my go to. You can always paint a flower, right? 😄🌼

I still use these pencils sometimes, that I bought from my pocket money when I was a teenager. Very satisfying to use things that last… And it always throws me back in time, to the days when my desire to create wasn’t something I could articulate very well, and I thought I had to reach a certain level before I could call myself an artist or even present myself as a creative person. Back in the days I thought it was all about the end result, that was supposed to be rated by others… Now more than ever I love and trust the process, no matter the outcome, knowing you can never please everybody and it will not always be great. And that’s more than fine. One of those life lessons you would have loved to teach your younger self!

What a lovely day, with such good vibes and so much creativity 🙌 We started with a brief introduction, followed by a wonderful, calming and inspiring meditation from Vereen. After that, there was plenty of inspiration to create a vision board for 2026! Magazines, images, paper, text, glue and scissors all over the place. The creative flow was definetely there 😄 It was a joy, really. This is so empowering!

Thank you for being here today ladies, it was great to have you 🫶🎉
