The types of solar panels are divided into roof mount solar panel and flexible solar panel.
A solar panel with solar cells mounted under tempered glass is a rigid solar panel. They vary in size, and most panels are mounted in aluminum frames for easy outdoor installation. They are constructed to resist hail, sand and strong winds. The glass is scratch-resistant for long-term use.
Flexible solar panels are flat panels covered with a protective layer of plastic. Since they don't have a frame, they have a small profile that allows for proper flexing, for example to accommodate the arc of the roof. And relatively lightweight.

What can a 120w solar panel do for us?

120-watt solar panel can produce enough power to run most of the basic appliances like a fridge for a few hours, Tv, laptop, phone, LED bulbs, Fans, etc… with the help of a battery during camping or in case of any emergency.

"The looks are great. Very nice looking panel. I know it's not all about the looks, but these look good.
Power output is good too. With my portable battery, I was able to get 90 watt charge - even without the panels directly pointing at the sun (my test was early morning). With proper positioning, I know the wattage will be higher.
The panel seems very sturdy, and is metal framed... but still very light.
I have not heard of Alrska before, but also tried out one of their flexible panels. That one has worked out well, so I am very interested additional products released by Alrska. So far I have been pleased."

”These panels arrived quickly and were packaged well. They are very well constructed and surprisingly light weight. High quality cables and connectors compliment rigid side walls with pre-drilled holes that make mounting a snap. They were installed and charging the batteries in about 30 minutes.
These solar panels are incredibly efficient. Right out the box they were showing 19.2 volts in partial shade and, once installed, topped off our battery bank in record time!
We had no issues, but contacted customer service prior to purchase. They were friendly and quick to respond.

The Alrska 180-Watt flexible solar panel is a really nice quality flexible solar panel that is light weight (6.2lbs) compared to those heavier ridged type with the aluminum frames. I also like these panels because they are also glare free so if you are a prepper like me and don't want your solar panels to look really shiny and give off your location then you will love these. The connectors that come with this panel are the typical waterproof MC4 type and they are clearly labeled + & - so it's easy to tell which is which. Since these panels are flexible it allows you to mount it on curved surfaces with just silicone adhesive. I plan on mounting one on my Jeeps roof along with one on my camping trailer. Just make sure to use a solar charge controller so you don't overcharge your batteries. I used the Alrska charge controller, and it works just fine just make sure you mount it in a dry location. You will need some MC4 cables to be able to hook it up to the controller so keep that in mind. Overall, I was very happy with the quality of the panel.
