Why Amber Blood collection tubes are required?
Reply: Amber blood collection tubes are designed to address the issue of poor light protection in standard blood collection tubes. They utilise a light-shielding mechanism to prevent the breakdown of drugs caused by light energy, such as ultraviolet rays, thereby improving the accuracy of test results. The light-shielding component of these tubes is fitted over the exterior of the tube, whilst an auxiliary light-shielding component is incorporated internally and a light-blocking agent is applied to the inner wall of the tube. This design significantly reduces the likelihood of the tube being exposed to light, facilitating blood collection procedures. It is particularly suitable for blood samples requiring light protection, such as those from chemotherapy patients.
