From project review to production traceability, a PCBA factory visit should help buyers understand how each stage connects.

On July 24, 2026, two visitors from Saudi Arabia visited STHL in Shenzhen. The discussion began with engineering and sourcing teams before continuing through material preparation, SMT production, first article inspection, AOI, THT/DIP assembly, testing, outgoing quality control, and final assembly.

One important part of the visit was the PCB-level MES traceability QR code. It serves as a board identifier that connects applicable production and inspection records across the manufacturing process.

For overseas hardware teams, this visibility helps clarify:

• Who handles engineering questions
• How material information reaches production
• How the first assembled board is verified
• How inspection and testing continue before shipment
• Which processes apply to the actual product requirements

The value is not simply seeing more equipment. It is understanding how people, information, materials, and inspection records move together.

STHL recently welcomed a customer for a factory walk-through focused on real production workflow and project communication.

The visit covered material staging, kitting, IC storage, SMT line, AOI inspection, THT assembly, OQC 3D inspection, IC programming, and product test review.

For customers working on PCB assembly and EMS projects, factory visibility helps make production planning, inspection expectations, and testing requirements easier to understand.

STHL will observe the 2026 Dragon Boat Festival holiday from June 19 to June 21. Regular office and production operations will resume on June 22.

During the holiday period, website messages, inquiry forms, and business emails will remain open for submission. Our team will follow up after returning to work based on project status and actual priorities.

Customers with ongoing prototype builds, material preparation, production scheduling, or shipment plans are encouraged to coordinate key timelines in advance.

Venue and event infrastructure electronics are not built around one device.

They depend on many connected systems: LED display controllers, access control terminals, ticket scanning devices, POS payment terminals, wireless gateways, lighting control boards, audio controllers, security sensors, and power management modules.

Each device creates a different PCBA reliability risk.

A display controller PCBA needs stable signal output, power delivery, thermal behavior, and connector reliability. An access control PCBA needs reliable scanner or reader integration, ESD awareness, enclosure fit, and final functional testing. A communication device PCBA may depend on antenna placement, firmware, device ID control, and interface testing.

Our latest article explains why OEM buyers should look beyond bare board assembly and consider product role, testing, firmware, labels, enclosure integration, box build assembly, and field service from the beginning.

Large-scale event electronics have one thing in common: the deadline is real.
For OEM buyers, that creates a useful lesson. A successful prototype or first PCBA batch does not automatically mean stable supply. The next production run may face different component availability, firmware versions, test setups, packing rules, or delivery requirements.

In our latest article, we discuss why PCBA supply planning should start before the formal purchase order, especially when the project has a fixed delivery window or repeat-order expectation.

Key topics include:
Component sourcing and BOM risk
Approved alternates before shortages happen
PCN and EOL review
Test readiness and pass/fail criteria
Firmware control
Delivery package planning
Spare-parts policy
Forecast visibility for repeat production

How Approved Alternates Support Stable Repeat PCBA Orders

Repeat PCBA orders are not always as simple as “build the same board again.”
Between the first build and the next production run, component availability, lifecycle status, lead time, MOQ, package source, and distributor stock can change.
Approved alternates help OEM buyers and EMS partners manage these changes with more control.

Instead of treating substitution as an emergency purchasing action, approved alternates create a documented path for sourcing flexibility, engineering review, quality control, and repeat production traceability.
In our latest blog, we discuss:
why repeat PCBA orders can be more fragile than they look;
why approved alternates are engineering decisions, not purchasing shortcuts;
which BOM lines need tighter control;
how alternate use should connect to testing, inspection, and traceability;
what OEM buyers should clarify before repeat production.
