Sonar shows a fish below the hole. A few seconds later, the mark disappears.
Did the fish lose interest, or did the lure move out of position?
This is where an underwater fishing camera becomes useful. A live underwater view lets you watch the fish enter the frame, inspect the lure, and react to each movement. If it turns away, you have something practical to work with on the next drop.
