“100 W” is incomplete without the waveform. CW and pulsed amplifiers may need different supplies, cooling, protection and testing. Pulse width, duty cycle, repetition rate and peak/average power must be defined early.

VSWR protection should protect the amplifier without making the whole system unpredictable. Threshold, response, recovery, reset mode and remote alarm status should be discussed before integration—not after a shutdown.
