It was a real honor for me to return last Saturday to the University of Buea Geography Department — the same institution that found me worthy in both character and learning 7 years ago.

As Project Coordinator and now General Manager of Great Innovations Technologies, I had the chance to share my experience on geospatial technologies with over 200 students.

The exchanges were rich all through the event. From field stories to live demos with the Matrice 30T and Mavic 3E, the energy in the room was incredible. These students are sharp, curious, and ready to shape the future of mapping and planning in Africa.

Giving back to the University of buea that shaped me means a lot. This is why we do what we do at GI Tech: build capacity, share knowledge, and equip the next generation with real tools for real impact.

Shout to our team on the ground and to the faculty for trusting us with their students.

Happy Labour day.

Last weekend, I embarked on an unforgettable adventure to Mount Cameroon with 2 companions!

I have already visited more than 300 localities in 8 countries but this journey was not like my regular journey around the map for work .

🌋 Located in the southwest region of Cameroon, Mount Cameroon is among the highest peak in West Africa, standing tall at over 4,000 meters.

The journey was a rollercoaster of emotions and doubts, with breathtaking views and heart-pumping moments.

As we pushed forward, my companions reached their limits, and I found myself soloing the climb to the summit.

It was a test of mental and physical strength, but the sense of accomplishment was indescribable. I spent some time alone at the summit, reflecting on life and my capacity to push through pain.

What struck me most was the kindness of strangers along the way - joyful hikers always ready to share a smile, snacks, or words of encouragement. 🤝

If you're looking for an adventure that'll challenge your limits and maybe even fix some relationships 😉, I highly recommend it.

Who knows, Mount Cameroon might be the solution to your couple 👫💜problems!

🔋 Keeping Cool on Tower cell : Temperature Monitoring Matters 🌡️

We're talking about the critical equipment that keeps our networks running smoothly. One key factor? Temperature control! 🔥

🔹 : high temps can lead to equipment failure and costly downtime
🔹 : ensure your gear is running at peak efficiency
🔹 : reduce wear and tear with proactive monitoring

Check out these thermal images showing hotspots on telecom antennas .

let's keep those towers cool and connected! 💡

Got questions about thermal monitoring or want to share your experiences?

22/02/2026

our team recent work on 3D modeling and thermography in telecom tower inspections!

🔹 : detect corrosion, cracks, and damage to tower structures
🔹 : identify hotspots and potential electrical issues
🔹 : ensure optimal alignment and positioning
🔹 : monitor heat signatures to prevent overheating and equipment failure

🔹 : monitor vegetation growth and soil erosion

These cutting-edge techs help us identify potential issues before they become major problems, ensuring network reliability and safety. Check it out and let's chat about how we're revolutionizing infrastructure maintenance!
what are your biggest challenges in telecom tower inspections?

Field cartographers should possess good phisical conditioning.

We recently conducted a mapping mission in Batoke, a locality in southwestern Cameroon, near Debundscha a locality known world wide for its High pluviometry.

Our objective was to map a banana plantation and assess its expansion potential.

Mission Objectives:

- Map the banana plantation
- Study expansion potential
- Identify terrain and vegetation challenges
- Propose a shorter and easier access route to the plantation
- Assess the health of vegetation on site
- Determine the number of banana plants on site

Equipment Used:

- DJI Phantom 4
- Parrot Blue Grass drone equipped with Sequoia multispectral sensor

The Challenge:

The mission was extremely challenging due to the site's proximity to a high-rainfall area and its accessiblity that was 3km and 300m of elavation différence From the main road .

Our mapping mission in Batoke was a success despite the challenges encountered. We collected valuable data to improve plantation management and identify expansion opportunities.
