Electrical Safety Tips: "Grounding"
The importance of earthing (grounding) your electrical installation (house).
Most people think earthing is costly, so they skip it when building or wiring their house/electrical system. But here’s the truth: earthing is not an extra cost, it’s an investment in safety. Without it, a single lightning strike or short circuit can destroy your appliances or, even worse, put lives at risk.
The dangers of not earthing your house:
1️⃣ Lightning Strikes
They can destroy your equipment because when lightning strikes, the current finds the easiest way to reach the ground. If there is no earthing, it will be forced through your equipment, destroying it.
2️⃣ Fault Current
This is the flow of current to the body of an equipment, which is supposed to go safely to the ground. Without earthing, if anyone touches the equipment, the person will be electrocuted (shocked).
3️⃣ Excess Current
Excess current that should go to the ground will not, and it will end up damaging your equipment.
Those are some of the dangers caused by not grounding/earthing your electrical system.
