GPS doesn’t need internet. Your device receives radio signals directly from satellites and uses them to work out where you are. Internet can add services like real-time traffic, but GPS itself doesn’t need it.

3.⁠ ⁠✅ Your device calculates your position.
Your phone, smartwatch or TomTom device has a GNSS receiver that listens to signals from satellites and calculates its own position. The satellites just broadcast the signals. They don’t actually know where you are. 🛰️
