How do data and AI models become useful outside the research environment?

On 14 October, “RigenerAI meets Poliba: AI, Data & Innovation” will bring researchers, students, companies, institutions and professionals together to explore the path from research to real-world applications.

The programme will look at the development of Konto, including data collection, model development and validation with healthcare organisations and medical staff. A Data Science case in the Emergency Department will provide a concrete example of how complex information can be interpreted and classified, while the discussion will also explore how models can be optimised for practical use.

How does an AI project move from research to something that can be used in a real organisation?

On 14 October 2026, “RigenerAI meets Poliba: AI, Data & Innovation” will take place at BINP - Politecnico di Bari. The event will connect university research, companies, students, institutions and local communities around a practical question: how can complex data and AI models support real decisions?

The programme will explore the development of Konto, from data management and model development to real-world applications. It will also look at the work carried out with healthcare organisations and medical staff to collect data, train models and validate the platform.

In health insurance risk assessment, the difficulty is often not the absence of information. It is the effort required to reconstruct the context from clinical records, insurance data and relevant information gathered along the patient’s care pathway.
