Since Dreamcatcher Promotions began in 2011, we’ve experienced tremendous success and growth. But it’s equally important to acknowledge the difficult decisions and challenges that have shaped our journey.

As an Indigenous female entrepreneur and mother, Michelle understands the unique challenges women face in business. Often, the first hurdle is taking that leap of faith and believing in ourselves, even when the path forward feels uncertain.

Yesterday, members of our team had the opportunity to attend the 6th Annual Orange Shirt Day Healing Walk and Pow Wow, hosted by the Southern Chiefs’ Organization, in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The day began with an opening ceremony at The Forks, followed by the Healing Walk to Canada Life Centre, where community members gathered for the pow wow.

We are grateful to have been part of an event that brought people together to honour Survivors, their families, and the children who never made it home. The gathering was a meaningful reflection of Indigenous culture, resilience, community, and strength. 🧡

Thank you to the organizers, dancers, volunteers, vendors, and everyone who contributed to making this event possible.
As an Indigenous company, we recognize the importance of continuing to honour the truth, support reconciliation, and create opportunities to learn, reflect, and move forward together.

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation invites us to make space for remembrance, reflection, and understanding.

Today, and everyday, we honour Survivors, their families, and the children who never made it home. We recognize the profound and lasting impact of the residential school system and the ways its legacy continues to be felt by Indigenous Peoples and communities across Turtle Island.

Understanding this history is an important part of moving toward Reconciliation. Today is an opportunity to listen to Survivors, learn from their experiences, and acknowledge the truths that have shaped generations.

We also recognize the strength, resilience, cultures, and traditions that continue to thrive within Indigenous communities. These are stories of survival, connection, and the enduring strength of Indigenous Peoples.
