Feeling grateful and quietly excited to share a few things that have been coming to life lately.
Our - Art Create Learn Spring/Summer 2026 (Issue 11) is now out in print and digital. This issue holds so many incredible artists, stories, and conversations from our Windsor-Essex creative community. It always feels like a collective effort in the truest sense.
Alongside the issue, I also released something very close to my creative practice:
📖 Roots & Wings Companion Workbook – Volume 1
A printable workbook with 60 art prompts exploring memory, becoming, and letting go. It’s designed as a gentle space to return to creativity without pressure—just exploration.
And I’ve also created an undated wall calendar featuring fragments from my Unfinished Memories series. It feels like a way of bringing those painted moments into everyday life while also helping support the continued publication of the magazine.
At the same time, I’m honoured to have work included in a few group exhibitions right now:
🌿 O Canada Exhibition with The Local Collective at Walkerville Brewery (this weekend)
🌸 Kingsville’s “GARDENS: Plants & Flowers” at the Carnegie Arts & Visitor Centre (June 1–25) — featuring two of my paintings alongside other artists
It’s always meaningful to be part of shared community spaces like this, where so many different voices and practices come together.
I’m deeply grateful for all of it.
Thank you for supporting, reading, collecting, and being part of this journey in whatever way you do.

Lately I’ve been disappearing into magazine deadlines, spending long days working on the Spring issue of Art Create Learn . The good news is that we’re almost finished.
At the same time, tomorrow marks the final day of my Unfinished Memories exhibition at Café Amor( ) in Belle River location (473 Notre Dame St, Belle River, ON).
I’ll be there from 11 AM until about 3 PM, sketching, enjoying a coffee, and later taking down the paintings. If you’d like to stop by, bring a sketchbook or just yourself. I’d be happy to share a coffee, some conversation, and a little creative time together.
It’s a last-minute invitation, but sometimes those are the best kind.
Hope to see you there.

Semi-abstract acrylic sketch – wildflowers 🌸🎨

Despite the rain, it was such a wonderful time sharing how to paint wildflowers at the bridal shower. Congratulations to Kathleen on your marriage 💕✨

A special thank you to Ingrid for creating such beautiful floral pastel art stations, and for inviting me to do the art instruction. Everything was absolutely lovely! 🌿🌷

Happy Mother’s Day 🌼
Thinking today of all the mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, and women whose love leaves a lasting imprint on our lives.
This old photo of an orange flower felt fitting today — a quiet reminder of warmth, strength, growth, and care through the seasons.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Sunday filled with love, reflection, and beautiful moments. 💛

I’m sharing two works in this exhibition that were created in 2021, both exploring reflection, memory, and human connection through painting:
✨ At the Lake (Acrylic on canvas, 16 × 20 in)
This work captures a quiet, contemplative moment where landscape and memory gently merge. Through soft layering and expressive colour, it invites stillness and reflection.
✨ Gathering (Conversation Series) (Acrylic on canvas, 8 × 10 in)
Part of my Conversation Series, this piece explores the subtle, unspoken connections between people. Semi-abstract forms and layered tones suggest presence, exchange, and emotional proximity.
Our Group Exhibition is now officially installed ✨
As both curator and exhibiting artist, it’s incredibly rewarding to see 23 local artists come together in one space. This is not a themed exhibition, but rather an open presentation of diverse voices, styles, and perspectives—each work standing independently while contributing to a rich collective experience.
Featuring:
Lupita Amaya G., Julie A. Bell, Anna Buckie, Trudy Dempsey, Marian Drouillard, Sandra Ellis, Margot Forman, Nora Harvey, Linda Heise, Vivian Klink, Ober-Rae Starr Livingstone, Leona MacIntyre, Andrea Niven, Christine Paris, Anita Pistor, Kathleen Pistor, Katherine Roth, Adele Steinberg, Bobbi Wagner, Shelley Webster, Holly Wolter, Matthew Zaidan, and myself.

If you’re in the area, I warmly invite you to join us:
📍 Reception: Sunday, April 12 | 2–4 PM
📍 140 Richmond St., Amherstburg, ON
Come experience the work in person, meet the artists, and take in the full range of creative voices on display.

A beautiful afternoon exploring mixed media collage & acrylic with Julie A. Bell (Julie A. Bell - Mixed Media Collage Art)🎨
Layer by layer, we built textures, stories, and colour—transforming simple coasters into small works of art. Each piece became a reflection of process, play, and creative freedom.
Sharing a few glimpses from the workshop—along with my own piece in progress 💛

🌹🐉 Excited to share “The Rose and the Dragon” (formerly Roses of Westeros) in the Members Show at Gibson Gallery!

This piece is part of my narrative art series—storytelling, myth, and symbolism come together to explore strength, protection, and feminine power.

With Women’s Day tomorrow, I’m celebrating the courage, resilience, and power of women everywhere—values that inspired this work. 💪✨

Come see this painting and amazing works by local artists!
