A bit of an unusual casualty in the shop this afternoon: a projector vs. a golf club. 🏌️‍♂️💥
As you can see from the microscope shots, the golf club definitely won the first round.

I tracked the power failure down to a catastrophic hit on the mainboard. The impact was strong enough to completely shear a surface-mount component right off its pads near the 12V power rail.

When "Fore!" turns into "Fix it," you’ve got to break out the fine-tip iron. Time to clean up these pads, bridge the connection, and get this cinema experience back on the green! 🛠️

What’s on the Table Today:

Working on another specialized repair for a local business here in Windsor! Today’s patient is a Star Pro-Max 2.0 Panini Press that’s seen better days.

As you can see from the photos, we had a pretty nasty failure at the relay block. High-heat environments like these are tough on electrical components; over time, a loose connection or age can lead to arcing and total meltdowns like this one.

🛠️ The Repair Plan:

• Remove & Replace: Swapping out those charred, failed relays for brand-new, high-temperature rated units.

• Terminal Clean-up: Trimming back the damaged high-temp wiring and crimping on fresh, heavy-duty connectors to ensure a solid, low-resistance connection.

• Safety Check: Testing the heating elements and thermostats to make sure everything cycles correctly before it goes back to the kitchen line.

Nothing beats the satisfaction of taking a "dead" piece of equipment and getting it back to making sandwiches.

Working on these Panasonic drive-thru
headsets requires a steady hand and a good microscope, especially when it comes to swapping out those tiny MEMS microphones! 🔬🛠️

Just finished up a precision mic replacement on this unit. When these mics fail, it usually means muffled audio or total silence at the menu board, which can really slow down a drive-thru line. By microsoldering a fresh component onto the board, we get crystal-clear communication back without the high cost of a full headset replacement.

🛠️ Custom Reconstruction: Drive-Thru Headset Repair

Ever run into a part that simply isn’t made to be fixed? Today at Integrity Tech, we had a headset with a proprietary dual-pin connector that was completely frayed at the base.

Because these connectors are usually factory-sealed plastic, you can’t just "pop them open" to resolder. Instead of telling the client to buy an expensive replacement, we went the custom route:

• The Surgery: We carefully stripped back the original housing to access the wiring and pins, then performed precision soldering to restore the connection.

• The Mold: To ensure the repair is durable and "restaurant-proof," I created a custom mold to house the pins.

• The Result: By injecting a specialized bonding resin into the mold, we replicated the original factory shape and provided heavy-duty strain relief.

The result is a rock-solid connection that’s back in service for a fraction of the cost of a new unit. 🎧✨

🛠️ What’s on the table today?

Ever wonder why your favorite headset suddenly stops responding? Sometimes, the smallest part causes the biggest headache. 🎧

Today I’m performing some "open-heart surgery" on this wireless headset. The culprit? A stubborn, worn-out tactile switch (that tiny red button in the photos).

The Mission:

• De-solder the failed component without disturbing the surrounding circuitry (it's a crowded neighborhood in there!).
• Clean up the pads for a fresh connection.
• Install a brand-new switch to get those clicky tactile feels back.
