I got the urge to learn to crochet in University. All those long days of sitting in desks and studying at a computer got to me and I wanted to learn a craft I could do easily do with my hands. After a failed attempt to learn to via Youtube I asked my Grandma to show me some basics while I was home for Christams, and then I just went from there. I soon became obsessed. I brought my yarn with me on
social outings and crocheted tuques, scarves and cowls for most of my friends Birthday and Christmas presents the following years. I have used crocheting as a distraction from whatever work actually needed to be done ever since. Now that I have graduated, unemployment gave me the drive I needed to open my own Etsy shop where I could continue to do what I love. I was looking for a unique shop name that summed up what I was all about. I found the word 'Cariad', which means Love in Welsh and decided it was perfect for me. All my products are handmade with Love, and I hope you enjoy them!
