Astro’s fictional birthdate would make him 22 years old today.

Created by Osamu Tezuka, the character was introduced in the 1951 Captain Atom manga and then in his own manga series. Astro Boy has appeared in animated television shows (notably the 1963, 1980, 2003 series)

The ocean is beyond fascinating to me. It’s an entirely alien and completely hostile environment to land dwellers. Nothing, nothing is more unsettling to me than the idea of floating in the middle of the ocean with hundreds or thousands of feet and the unseen below me. I admire ocean explorers that are drawn to its depths looking to discover its secrets. I would only feel comfortable with the latest and greatest equipment if I were to venture down the ocean’s surface

I have a small collection of things that are dripping with nostalgia for me. Art of books, Blu-rays, figures, etc. One of my most favourite of all of them is my 1:1 BOLT from Iron Giant movie. It’s the one that you see at the end of the film rolling off to reunite with the other parts. I haven’t found the spot for it in the new studio setup, but I do have a glass dome to display it in.

Had to put in my copy of Beat Street while doing this one. I’m a straight up 80s kid. That means doing the moonwalk, poppin’ and lockin’, and furious windmills were all part of my breakdance routine. Without question my slickest dance was the robot. The dance hall in my mind is open 24/7 and the DJ is always playing freshest beats.

I have a longstanding love for Wayfinding design. Every time I’m in public buildings, underground parking, event spaces, or navigating city streets in general, I’m very cognizant of signage that helps one get from point A to point B, point and back. My top peeve is signs that make an effort to say the opposite of what you need to know, such as the ‘Don’t not turn left, OK’ signs.
