Happy Mother’s Day 🌻
It can be a complicated day for many. Not every relationship looks like a Hallmark movie. But beautiful things exist at the same time as painful things. What you focus on helps so much. My daughter made this sweetness, and today I get to be with all my babies. I am so grateful.

I miss and send deep gratitude those who have been mother figures in my life my Mum, my Aunt Min, Liz, Nana & Grammie. You certainly don’t need to birth someone to be a powerful mother force in someone’s life.

If I had known what motherhood actually demands of you, I likely would have been too terrified to begin, but it has been the best decision in my life too.

How they started out! I used a projector to rough in the shapes. I just used a white pastel pencil. I wasn’t trying to get detail - more mapping key points to keep it in proportion as I worked. The white cat was so hard to map out because it was white on white. At one point I fashioned a simple grid over the canvas with sparkly gold Christmas elastic to help me pull the shapes back on track.
