I’m currently sacrificing my bones to the mural gods again, so figured I should finally give 2022’s bell box mural it’s v overdue time on the grid. 🌱🍊✨

big thanks to for letting me paint on stuff and for the folks in Thorncliffe who said such nice things + made sure I was drinking water. public art is important as hell and I’m super stoked to be painting my second bell box this week!!

BLUE VASE II – flowers and faces, as usual, for this year’s hoop-la show at 🌷

hoop-la features original pieces by 50 artists and will be on display from June 1 to 30 at in Guelph. all pieces will be available for purchase online (and there’s shipping this year!)

this is my third hoop-la piece and not to play favourites, but oops, it’s this one!! apparently my 2020 piece was my first proper painting as an adult?? painting is such a significant (but rarely shared lol) part of my illustration work now and even though I always feel like I’m never painting as much as I want to, it’s wild to think that there was a time when I just wasn’t doing it at all. it makes me v grateful for every lil thing I’ve painted in the last four years and for opportunities like this. 🥲

I stopped bringing this lil guy to markets when I only had handful left, but I had some of my fav conversations with folks about how much they related to this sentiment. 🌷 kinda sorta wanna give it a lil redesign and restock it for spring maybe idk??

end of year reflections are tricky cause my brain always defaults to the Bad Stuff and woooooow was there a lot of that in 2023. 🫠

but! it was also the year that I finally started therapy and reunited with lots of pals and painted a bunch and I’m v v thankful for those lil bits of softness among the chaos. 🌸

highly recommend staging silly lil photoshoots to give your brain extra dopamine if you also hate taking product photos. 😌✨
