Walk With Web We develop, support & sustain digital social sciences and humanities research. Our services include:

Development: We believe that every project is unique.

Walk With Web (WWW) is a Candian corporation working to support the development, deployment, and long-term maintenance of social sciences and humanities research. Our clients and collaborating teams are located in North America, Europe, the Caribbean, Latin America, and Africa. We provide online gateway services to researchers located in multiple universities through an online content management t

ool called Regenerated Identities (RegID). We create custom graphical user interfaces that fulfill specific needs of various research projects, thus enabling the development of robust databases that lead to the creation and semi-automated self-publication of research outcomes on the World Wide Web. We create and maintain digital platforms that allow participation in an accessible community with open source, as well as limited incorporation of commercial data of scholars. We are the solution to a longstanding problem of sustainability of social sciences and humanities research provisioning a secured digital, expert-managed shared online space for ongoing, archived and future research projects. Therefore, we strive to create & provide custom-designed web-based visual interfaces for research teams for collaborative curate high volume visual and/or textual databases, with storage and meta-tagging. Using RegID, researchers easily rediscover and share information via customizing controlled vocabularies, meta-fields, and much more. Deployment: Our design experts work closely with research teams to create public websites, novel interfaces and search algorithms for projects. Our public websites "talk to" our RegID service, giving project directors full control over online publications of work. At WWW, we implement user-inclusive design and iterative learning methodologies to optimize system design and information retrieval. Control: We design interphases that follow critically prepared digital and analog best practices, which are customized according to project needs. WWW seeks to allow maximum autonomy for control of websites and databases. Using the RegID new plugins, researchers can edit static website pages and sections in real-time without the involvement of computer expertise, unless needed. Support: We take care of all technical aspects of projects. We host websites, maintain back-up and databases, work on web ranking, and more. Our system is secured and uses the latest security protocols. Using our simple ticketing system, WWW connects skilled research assistants working with partners and computer experts to provide efficient and fast support to research teams.

In observance of the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade, the Middle Passage Ceremonies and Port Markers Project ( MPCPMP) will share a recorded conversation featuring Walk With Web director Professor Paul Lovejoy (York University) and Advisory Board member Professor Corey Walker (Wake Forest University).

The discussion centers on Lovejoy’s forthcoming book, Olaudah of Ikwuano: The True Origins of an African Abolitionist (1742–1766), the culmination of decades of research on Olaudah Equiano (Gustavus Vassa). Drawing on Equiano’s first-person account, the conversation explores his early life in Africa, capture, the Middle Passage, enslavement, and eventual advocacy for abolition.

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of , we’re excited to highlight the launch of one of Walk With Web’s 2026 projects, Teaching African Canadian History by Dr. Natasha Henry-Dixon (York University / York University - Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies).

This new website and blog offers a comprehensive range of resources on Black history in Canada and the African Diaspora, including books, articles, primary and secondary sources, lesson plans, events, historical sites, and media such as podcasts, films, and videos.
As we reflect on this month, remember that people of African descent have shaped Canada’s social, cultural, and political history since the 1600s and that this history deserves to be recognized and honoured year-round, not only during Black History Month.

As AI becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives, its applications are not only transforming industries but also reshaping how we approach global challenges. One striking example is in the realm of road safety.

York University Professor Ali Asgary, in partnership with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), has unveiled MotoAI, an innovative AI-powered web application for motorcycle safety. Launched during the 8th UN Global Road Safety Week, MotoAI uses 34 risk indicators to offer personalized risk assessments and crucial recommendations to help riders stay safe on the road. Beyond individual use, it’s also a powerful tool for global road safety initiatives, providing data and trends for policymakers and researchers.

At Walk With Web, we share this vision of harnessing technology for meaningful impact. Just as MotoAI applies AI to enhance safety and inform global policy, our projects use digital tools to support research, preserve culture, and build accessible platforms for global impact.
