My Name is Rick Smith, I am a technician from Vancouver BC Canada. I have been working with vintage synthesizers for over 25 years. I apprenticed with Richard Faubel at Backline here in Vancouver, John Leimseider at the NMC (formally CANTOS) in Calgary Alberta and instrument designer Donald Buchla in Berkeley California.

My services include:

- Repair (battery changes, small touch ups etc) of Vintage Synthesizers, Drum Machines and some effects.

- Restoration (complete servicing) of Vintage Synths and Drum Machines.

- Custom circuit board design.

- Sales and appraisals.

I work only on instruments from the 1960s until the late 1980s.. Moog, ARP, Buchla, EMS, Sequential Circuits, Yamaha, Korg, Linn etc.

- all key spring contacts cleaned and timed
- all key tops cleaned and levelled
- all tantalum and electrolytic capacitors replaced
- all motherboard contacts re-soldered
- all polycom card contacts cleaned
- all new low current LEDs
- all sliders lubricated
- all switches cleaned
- power supply refurbished (new caps, diodes, regulators, trimmers)
- completely cleaned inside and out
- all hardware tightened
- burn in and calibration
