A little weeding ASMR as we uncover a puppy on this heat transfer vinyl (htv)! 🐾 what dog breed do you think it is? 😍

Special project request/service trade from one of my lovely friends

We get used to environments which often become mundane. But if you allow yourself to be more open to the ‘art of noticing’, you’ll soon realize there are moments worth noticing all around you, every day.

Grabbed this simple shot on the MV Gallipoli in August; our ferry to our jewel in the sea, Ramea. Do I always want to be reminded of our ferry? No, because there’s been some not so great times on there, too! And I mean times when you’re absolutely sh*t-baked because you didn’t think a boat could rock & roll that way. (I know my fellow Ramea puffins get this more than anyone else!)

But we’re tough outport Newfoundlanders. And when I see the MV Gallipoli, I know my home is within reach. And having one of its life rings in a framed photo, well...I can smell the salty ocean road to home. ⚓️

They say decorating for fall can fix a surprising amount of problems. I don’t know who “they” is but I figured, might as well give it a shot, eh b’y!
🍁🍎☕️🍂

What’s something in fall that you wish could last all year? I choose the crisp temps and fall fashion!

Shoutout to Artful Homes for having a fab selection of entryway door mats!

Maybe you go for a quiet walk through the trail on a calm, glowing morning.
The chill in the air nips your nose.
You look ahead, and you notice new breath in the air, swirling like a mini cloud in the cool.
A majestic moose calmly looks at you through the mist, as if to say ‘good morning, I see you’.
You pause and wait for him to end the meeting, as if you both understand what it was all about.
He continues across the trail, slowly and into the depth of the woods, venturing into a new fresh day.

We've officially hit Fall status...Happy Fall/Autumn to all those who celebrate! 🍁
I know its a popular favourite season for many. I do love a crisp day, no wind, with a glimmer of sun pouring through...and of course, its also boot season, lol.

Appreciating my lil Newfoundland zone…with my new mug that JD surprised me with. ☕️ Biggg fan of the puffin design, Tim Hortons! 👏🏻
Also shoutout for Kelly Joy, Artist’s print in the middle of a snail on a mushroom 🌙, & the sweetest fused-glass puffin by Linette Greening. And can’t forget my yellow thrifted vase. 💛🥰

Did you watch the beautiful ceremony that Gander had on Friday, for the 25th anniversary of the heartbreaking 9/11 tragedy? 🤍🕊️
It was beyond moving, and such a reminder of what is truly important in life. Its surreal knowing that it has been a quarter of a century since this happened.
(...Also, how friggin great was Jean Chrétien's speech?! 🇨🇦🫶)

I hope the majority of us have taken lessons and values away from it all, because there are some pretty big ones to take in. Which has led to this little piece I was inspired to make this weekend:

lead with kindness
because it is kindness that carries us

when we carry things together,
the heavy is not so tough

choose to carry kindness forward,
the world will not feel so rough

not everyone carries the same,
and that’s what mosaics are made of

love thy neighbour,
you will soon find that your kindness is enough

link arms with each other
because it is kindness that carries us
