PC Troubleshooting

PC Troubleshooting Serving Business and Home Clients for computer repair, support and upgrades since 2002 Thus PC Troubleshooting was born.

Although I’ve always enjoyed working with computers, I first became professionally involved with them in 1999. I worked as a Network Administrator at a medium-sized business in Aurora, ON, mainly providing general desktop support and maintaining their small network. Looking at the marketplace, I could see that there weren’t many reasonably priced options available for home users or businesses that

couldn’t afford a full-time IT person. So in 2002, I decided to take the skills that I had learned and bring them to the public. I am constantly improving my skills, trying to keep up with trends and new hardware and software, so that I can better serve my customers. I normally upgrade as soon as possible to the latest versions of Windows and Office, making myself familiar with them through everyday use. I’m also able to work with all age groups, from helping kids with their new devices, to assisting the elderly in learning today’s technology. PC Troubleshooting offers many advantages to its clients:

My office is wherever my client is located. This means that I am able to keep overhead costs low and thus pass along the savings. During consultations, I can recommend the best solution to fix your problem, whether it be a simple tune-up, system overhaul, or necessary upgrades. I’ll never suggest work that does not need to be done. I am constantly on the lookout for new suppliers; always looking for the best prices for my clients. My hourly rate is significantly lower than the industry standard, while offering the same or better quality service. PC Troubleshooting is dedicated to giving affordable, reliable, professional service every time.

Microsoft has released clarification about old printer drivers not working anymore in Windows 11. Apparently it was talking about submissions to Microsoft for drivers, not what drivers are supported on the OS. This is good news for anyone who has an old printer that they want to keep using.

"If your printer works today, it will continue to work" Microsoft says as it issues correction around plans to end support for legacy printer drivers.

Microsoft is removing support for older printers from Windows. Old printers (and I'm talking like probably 15 years or so) that rely on older types of print drivers are no longer going to work with the installation of the latest security updates. I know I've seen some customers with really old printers that this might affect.

The next system update for Windows 11 could break your printer. Here's what you need to know.

It's official. Today is the last day that Microsoft will be releasing updates for Windows 10 (unless you sign in with a Microsoft account, or pay for them). There's still time to get a new or refurbished Windows 11 computer.

Microsoft has released the 25H2 update for Windows. To be honest, this update isn't really going to do too much, as all of the features will come in future updates, and will also be available to computers on the 24H2 update. What this does do is reset the clock for how long your version of Windows will be supported.

Microsoft has made a change to the end of Windows 10, sort of. If you are willing to sync your settings with Microsoft and use a Microsoft account, you can get updates for another year.

To me this isn't a great option. I always use a local account on my computer. I don't want to have to sign in every time I use it. I also don't really want to sync my settings. In my opinion, Microsoft has too much of my information as it is.

A temporary lifeline for Windows 10 users is now available for free.
