While it's a good thing for school graduates to be interested in different aspects of Video Game Development, specializing and presenting themselves as ''ready'' to work on 3 or 4 areas of highly specialized fields is unrealistic.
Most people don't have enough time in 2-3 years to reach the level of expertise that is required to get into the industry for one role.
The companies have the luxury of being extremely picky, so if someone applies as a 3D Artist / Level Designer / Game Designer, they will usually get rejected as it shows they have not done enough research and do not understand how they would fit on a team.
I have released a Course that is targeted towards Level / Environment Artists who want to get a job in Video Game Studios. I explain what really matters, and what recruiters want to see on Portfolios.
This Game Art class is focusing on Planning and Creating Modular Building Kits and Trim Sheets, however, we will cover the complete workflow of Environment creation from Conception to final integration in Unreal Engine 5.
No Time lapses in the course. Everything shown Step by Step with detailed explanations.
