Homemakers Payroll & Claim Form Calculator Software

If your community provides homemaker services to residents, the Homemakers Payroll & Claim Form Calculator software will help you to generate the monthly Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) Application for Reimbursement by the Province form with ease!

The software contains two modules:

📊Calculation Worksheet Module
Enter homemaker, client and wage information in one place. You can also duplicate a previous month’s worksheet and make the necessary changes—saving you time by avoiding repetitive data entry.

📄The Form Module

GWA-OW Calculator Software: Configuring a Temporary Care Allowance Case File

If you need to set up a new case file for a temporary care child, here are some configuration tips:

-The case file should be in the guardian's name and not the child's name.
-If the guardian already has their own case file for Ontario Works, you will need to create a second case file for the guardian and the temporary care child. The child should not be added to the guardian's own Ontario Works case file as a dependant. When you create the second case file, you can add a T (to signify temporary care) at the end of the guardian's ID so that it is not the same as the ID on the other case file.
-Under the Basic Information - Part 2 tab, the Temporary Care Allowance Only box must be checked.
-On the same Basic Information - Part 2 tab, the Case Claimed as Having Status and Case Claimed as Band Member checkboxes pertain to the child and not the guardian.
-Under the Basic Information - Dependant Information tab, make sure to check the Temporary Care/Foster checkbox under the child's profile.

Following the steps above ensures that the Temporary Care Assistance Only calculation screen will appear under the Entitlement Calculation box. As well, the appropriate forms for a temporary care allowance case file will be autochecked under the Standard Forms & Reports section of the guardian's file.

Income Assistance Manager Software: Rate Tables

The software always calculates clients' monthly budgets using Indigenous Services Canada's current Income Assistance rates, but sometimes a client might want to see confirmation of why they are receiving a particular rate for their family size.

You can provide your client with verification of the calculation by using the Income Assistance rate tables that can be found in the software under the Help menu.

The setup screen contains dropdowns where you can select the table (Basic Needs, COPH, etc.), the location, the rate type (Economic, Health or Social) and the year.

Once you've made your selections and clicked the Preview or Print button, you will see the detailed rate information for all composite codes for the parameters you selected on the setup screen.

GWA-OW Calculator Software: An Update Is Available

Version 1.18.28 is available!

You can obtain the update by going to the System menu and then M-Update Software. Make sure that your co-workers have each logged out of the software before you begin the update process.

Don't Forget to Back Up! 💻

If you haven't backed up your software or your computer in a while, today would be a good day to do this.

Here's a reminder of how to back up various programs:

GWA-OW Calculator Software:
Go to the System menu and select O-Back Up Your Data. You can choose to back up to a drive, to a folder, to our secure server (if you subscribe to our Data Backup Service) or to more than one option at the same time if you want.

Income Assistance Manager Software:
Go to the Tools menu and select Back Up Your Data. Select the option to back up to our server if you subscribe to this service or you can choose to back up to another drive.

Membership Database Software
Click the Tools icon and select the Backup option. Choose the correct drive under the Select Backup File Destination dropdown. Leave the File Prefix to Use field set to the current date and click the Backup button.
