CHANGE IS COMING TO LINDSAY
Join the Conversation & Experience the Art
The numbers don’t lie and neither do the empty seats.
The growing loss of civility in public life, including online abuse and in-person harassment directed at women, is creating a serious challenge for our democracy. When women leave politics, our communities lose valuable voices, perspectives and leadership that help shape stronger public policy.
It’s time to move beyond awareness and focus on solutions.
The Exhibition “Protest Signs”
In advance of our panel discussion, The Gallery has partnered with seven talented young local women artists to transform these issues into powerful visual statements.
Beginning June 29 and 30, the walls of Kindred Coffee Bar will showcase an exclusive exhibition of digitally created protest signs. Printed on large scale coroplast, these works explore themes of civic engagement, democratic participation, institutional change and collective action.
Visit early in the week to experience how these artists turn powerful messages into compelling visual resistance.
The Event “Empty Seats” Panel Discussion
Come to listen. Come to engage. Come to be part of the conversation.
Join The Advocate and Kindred for an important discussion about why too many women are stepping away from public office and what we can do to ensure politics remains a place where everyone can participate safely and respectfully.

Harassment is a choice. Respect is a responsibility.
Public service should not require personal sacrifice or enduring abuse. Let’s work together to protect civic participation and ensure our leadership reflects the communities it serves.
We hope to see you there.
