Al is no longer repairing phones as he passed away last night.

If you have dropped off a device that you are waiting to get back, please call his son at 519 379 7626.

We appreciate your patience with us as we try to sort through what is here and get everything back to the people it belongs to.

A very interesting repair......
Customer brought a badly damaged Motorola phone that fell off a tractor and was run over.... Screen was ripped off.
The rear cover, mid frame and all the screws holding it together were ripped out.
I told him that it was not worth repairing and some of the parts were not even available.....
He said it had quite a bit of Bitcoin on it and just needed it to turn on and function enough to transfer the Bitcoin to another device/wallet....
He brought these pieces in a bag....

3rd one in 2 weeks.
By far the most common fault in the PS5 is the HDMI port....... A slight bump to the cable and it can break the solder connections on motherboard.

Our microwave oven....Approx 2yrs old ($500)Has blown 4 fuses in the past 4 months or so... Works fine in between fuse c...

Has blown 4 fuses in the past 4 months or so... Works fine in between fuse changes....
Until today. Replace fuse, plug it in and boom.... Blows fuse. Tried again, same thing.
Tested with multimeter across the prongs on the power cable.... And they are short to ground. Did some reading and discovered there are 3 switches on the door latch which Must operate properly to ensure the door cannot be open when the oven is running!
If any of the switches fail, it blows the fuse!
Took it apart to confirm a dead switch and found a replacement on amazon for $12..
A lot cheaper than a service call....

Remove audio chip
Run jumper wire to repair the break.
Reball the chip and solder it back on.
Problem solved 👍👍

Completely dead.
As expected from Apple... The speaker is Soldered to the flex cable on the screen which has other components on it.
The old speaker is removed and a new speaker Soldered back on.
Now works perfectly 👍

iphone SE 2020 board repair.....
This is becoming a common problem with the iphone SE 2020.. where a trace on layer 2 of the logic board breaks causing a break in a data line on the charge port connector to the CPU which causes the phone to reboot every 3 minutes...
The repair requires running a micro jumper wire from the pin on the charging port connector to a trace in the logicboard. The trace is on layer 2, so the surface has to be carefully scraped away to expose the copper trace and then solder the jumper wire to it, which restores the connection and fixes the reboot problem.
All extremely tiny and done under a microscope.
