Don’t Dim Your Light to Make Someone Else Comfortable

Sometimes people will tell you you’re “too much.”
Too passionate. Too talkative. Too ambitious. Too you.

They’ll say your energy is a lot, when what they really mean is your honesty, enthusiasm, or confidence shines in ways they haven’t learned to handle.

But here’s the thing: if your light feels like “too much” for someone, that’s not your cue to shrink, it’s their cue to step back and find a dimmer room.

💡 And the same goes for your marketing.

If you’re holding back your message, toning down your brand, or watering down your offers because you’re worried you’ll be “too much”, you’re dimming the very thing that draws the right people in.

Your energy, your ideas, your stories, that’s what builds connection. The right clients don’t find that overwhelming; they find it magnetic.

So keep showing up. Loudly, clearly, authentically.
Your people will see you and they’ll turn up the volume right beside you. ✨

Last week I fired a client.
And then…immediately signed two new ones.

I didn’t change my marketing.
I didn’t post more.
I didn’t hustle harder.

I just made space.

Sometimes growth doesn’t come from adding more, it comes from stopping long enough to notice what’s draining you.

Because when your time, energy, or calendar is clogged with the wrong things (or people 👀), the right opportunities can’t find their way in.

This week’s newsletter dives into that: why “doing nothing” is sometimes the smartest move in business and how letting go of the wrong fit can literally open the door to better clients, better projects, and better days.

👉 Read it here!

And if you’re wondering — yes, peace really does pay well

Some weeks it’s not the algorithm holding you back, it’s the energy drainers.

You know the ones.
They hire you for your expertise, then question everything.
They want results yesterday but can’t send a logo today.
They say, “We just need a little marketing help,” and you end up playing therapist, strategist, and hostage negotiator.

Last week, I thought adding a new dog to the household was going to be the chaos.
But nope, the chaos had two legs, not four.

Blue (our new pup) has been an absolute dream.
She’s happy, easy, and has instantly become part of the family. Miller’s calmer. Addie’s thrilled. The house just feels lighter.

Meanwhile, that one human client? A whole different story.

This week reminded me: protecting your peace is a business strategy.

Because when you’re knee-deep in managing one impossible client,
👉 you don’t have space for the right ones.

The clients who trust you.
The ones who value your brain, not just your bandwidth.
The ones who let you do your best work — and actually get results from it.

So if you’ve had a week (like I just did), here’s your midweek permission slip:
Fire the chaos. Keep your calm. And double down on the work, and the people, that make you proud to show up.

(And honestly, if you’re debating between a difficult client or adopting another dog? Go with the dog. Every time.)

I finally get to announce the winner of our very first Go-Get-It Gameplan giveaway, valued at $750.

✨ Congratulations to Cathryn Ana Glenday, MPH, MA, LPCC!

I’ll be sending you the link to book your deep-dive call, can’t wait to map out your dream plan for the next 3–6 months of your business.

Here’s the thing:
So many people DM’d me after this giveaway. But the real rule was simple: drop the word GAMEPLAN in the comments.

👉 Why? Because visibility isn’t just about showing interest. It’s about showing up where it counts.

That’s marketing in a nutshell, right?
• Be visible in the right place
• Take the right action
• That’s when you get results

💡 If you didn’t win (and I’ll be reaching out to many of you directly), you can still get clarity on your visibility, marketing, and growth path.

Because honestly? A business without a plan is just guessing.

🙌 Huge thanks to everyone who participated, this was our first-ever giveaway, and it definitely won’t be the last.

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Marketing isn’t about doing everything. It’s about doing the right things consistently.

Here’s what I see all the time:
A business owner is on TikTok, posting Reels, dabbling in LinkedIn, sending random emails, and testing three different ad platforms…

And still wondering why the phone isn’t ringing.

The truth?
Spreading yourself thin across every platform doesn’t build visibility.
It builds burnout.

The businesses that actually grow?
They simplify. They double down on the 1–2 things that actually move the needle.

For example:

• One of my clients stopped chasing all the social channels and focused on email + Google visibility → booked out months in advance.

• Another client ignored the ad “shiny objects” and invested in fixing their website clarity → leads started converting.

So here’s the Monday reminder:
You don’t need to do all the things.
You need to do the right things, consistently.

Question for you:

If you looked at your marketing right now…
👉 What’s the ONE thing actually driving results?

👉 And what’s just noise you’re keeping up with out of fear of “falling behind”?

🎉 Today’s Truth Bomb: Not All Criticism is Created Equal! 🎉

Sometimes, the feedback we receive isn’t just tough to hear—it might even miss the mark. But here’s the kicker: every challenge is an opportunity to rise above and shine. Recently, I encountered some pointed criticism that was… let’s just say, a bit off-base. 🤷‍♀️

But instead of getting bogged down, I flipped the script. I provided clear, actionable advice to address the underlying issues—not for me, but for their benefit. Because that’s what true partners do!

Here’s the scoop:

1️⃣ Listen first—even if you disagree.

2️⃣ Respond with kindness and offer solutions that empower.

3️⃣ Keep evolving and stay committed to excellence, no matter what comes your way.

So, when was the last time you turned a critique into a win? Drop your stories below—we all get better by sharing and growing together!

🚀 Ready to partner with a team that sees challenges as chances to excel? Hit me up, and let’s make magic happen together!

🍎 Every Tuesday morning, I swap my marketing hat for an apron and a stack of flashcards at my daughter's school. Whether it's slicing up fruits and veggies in the nutrition room or guiding first graders through the maze of letter sounds and nonsense words, these moments are more than just volunteering—they're lessons in marketing too!

Here’s what these little experts have taught me:

Simplicity is Key - Just like those fruit snacks need to be bite-sized, your marketing messages should be easy to digest. Simple, clear, and nutritious for your audience's needs.

Engagement Drives Learning - Those wide-eyed first graders remind me that engagement isn't just about catching attention; it's about holding it. Interactive content, much like interactive reading sessions, keeps the audience (or kids) interested and invested.

Repetition Works - Repetition in learning letter sounds is a lot like brand repetition in marketing. The more your audience sees and interacts with your brand, the more likely they are to remember it.

So, as I spend my Tuesdays with these spirited little ones, I'm reminded of the power of simplicity, engagement, and repetition. Whether you're marketing a product or teaching a child, the principles can be surprisingly similar.

Who knew marketing lessons could be found in a first-grade classroom and a fruit bowl? 📚🍇

We were honored to be the recipient of the 2025 Consumers Choice Award Winner for Digital Marketing Agency in the Hamilton Niagara Region last night. It was a fun night celebrating with the other winners.

We’ve recently rebranded as Sarah Nicole Branding and Marketing. Unfortunately Facebook is giving me a hard time when I try to change my business page name.

Here’s to a fabulous 2025!
