A quick DaycareDash update 👋

The recent changes we’ve been working on are coming together well, and the new features are working as expected. We’re excited about how everything is shaping up.

A few final release activities are still underway before we make the updates available more broadly.

Parents and childcare providers should see the changes go live soon. We’ll share another update once they’re ready.

Thanks for following along as we continue improving DaycareDash for families and providers.

**Finding childcare is easier when you can find the right area, see the daycare, and ask a question—all in one place.**

We’re adding several new features to DaycareDash, and they’ll be **free for parents and childcare providers to use.**

Soon, parents will be able to:

📍 **Search more locally**
Search by PIN code or area/subdivision and see clearer location details, such as Bedford, Nova Scotia, when browsing daycare options.

💬 **Message providers inside DaycareDash**
Parents and providers will be able to start conversations, reply inside the platform, receive email notifications for new messages, and see when unread conversations are waiting.

📷 **See more before making an inquiry**
Providers will be able to add multiple photos of their daycare and organize them by areas such as play spaces, classrooms, kitchens and exteriors.

For providers, that means a better way to show families what makes your childcare service unique—and a more organized place to answer questions.

For parents, it means less jumping between searches, emails and separate websites when you’re trying to learn about your options.

**Search. See. Ask. All through DaycareDash.**

And, as always, it’s free for parents and childcare providers.

Finding childcare can start to feel like a job of its own.

A waitlist here. An email there. A phone call to follow up. Another Facebook group to check. And a note somewhere reminding you who you already contacted.

**DaycareDash gives families a simpler place to start.**

Search for nearby dayhomes and childcare providers, and keep supported childcare inquiries easier to follow in one place.

It’s free for parents and providers, and it was built right here in Nova Scotia.

DaycareDash can’t promise a childcare space or placement. What it can do is make the search a little less scattered.

September movement often starts quietly: one family changes plans, a child starts school, and a provider suddenly has a space to fill.

For a parent, that can mean reopening old messages and wondering which waitlists are still active. DaycareDash keeps nearby centres, dayhomes, preschool and after-school inquiries together, with status updates in one dashboard.

For providers, it means reviewing the current list, offering a space and receiving the parent’s Accept or Decline response through the portal.

DaycareDash complements Nova Scotia’s future licensed-care waitlist by helping with the broader search happening now.
It’s free for both.

We’re actively onboarding providers, so sharing it with a local daycare or dayhome would mean a lot to this homegrown Nova Scotia business.

A simpler, more personal childcare search is coming to DaycareDash. 💛 Whether you’re looking for care or offering it, our newest features are designed to make connecting easier.

📍 Parents will be able to search by postal code, community or subdivision. Listings will show a helpful general location—such as Bedford, Nova Scotia—while respecting providers’ privacy.

💬 Parents and providers can message directly through DaycareDash. Providers will receive email alerts and see unread messages on their dashboard, helping everyone avoid missed calls and phone tag.

📸 Providers can showcase their space with categorized photos of play areas, classrooms, kitchens and more—giving parents a better feel for the daycare before booking a tour.

We’re also introducing gentler, clearer application updates, including changing “Admitted” to “Spot Offered.”

By the end of an evening, a parent may have made several calls, sent Facebook messages and filled out multiple forms—then still need their own notes to track it all.

DaycareDash gives parents one profile to find nearby centres, dayhomes, preschool and after-school options, submit inquiries and see each status in one dashboard.

For providers, those requests arrive in one place, with tools to update statuses and control waitlist visibility instead of sorting through texts, emails and spreadsheets.

It complements Nova Scotia’s future licensed-care waitlist by helping with the broader search families are making today.
It’s free for both. If it feels useful, you’re welcome to take a look.

A parent can be on a licensed-centre waitlist and still need care long before a space opens. That often means separately contacting dayhomes, preschools and after-school programs, then trying to remember who replied and what was said.

DaycareDash gives families one place to find nearby providers and follow each inquiry. Providers receive those requests in one dashboard, where they can manage statuses and choose whether parents see an exact position, a range or simply “waitlisted.”

Nova Scotia’s planned licensed-care waitlist and DaycareDash address different parts of the same problem.

If DaycareDash could make your childcare search—or managing inquiries—a little easier, you’re welcome to try it. It’s free for parents and providers.

Dayhome providers, this one is for you. ❤️

Many families are still searching for childcare every day, and many are looking beyond large centres for trusted home-based care closer to their community.

At the same time, we know many providers are managing inquiries through Facebook comments, DMs, emails, texts, and spreadsheets. It can get messy very quickly.

That is exactly why we built Daycare Dash.

Daycare Dash gives dayhome providers one simple place to manage inquiries and waitlists, while making it easier for parents in your area to find and contact you.

You stay fully in control:
✅ You decide if you are accepting inquiries
✅ You manage your own waitlist
✅ You choose how and when to contact parents
✅ You decide your own enrollment process
✅ You can meet or interview families before offering a spot

The portal is not here to replace your process. It is here to make it easier to manage.

We now have around **195 parents registered** and **8 dayhomes onboarded** — because the need is real.

If you are a dayhome provider and want a simpler way to manage inquiries, we would love to have you join Daycare Dash.

Let’s make childcare search easier for families and less scattered for providers.
