Tzaddimade 👩🏻‍🎨 making + sharing since 2017

+ originals Hello! I’m so glad you’re here. I’d love to hear from you.

TzaddiMADE is the brand of Tzaddi Gordon (that’s me, and my first name is pronounced “zawdee”). I’m an artist and designer from the west coast of Canada. I make at least a little every day, and share some of my process along the way. The sharing is part of my mission to get over perfectionism and demystify creative processes. People keep telling me that’s inspiring to them. I hope you might find s

ome joy and inspiration in my posts, too. Some of what I create is turned into artful products such as stationery, wrap skirts, and pouches. If you’re interested in more info or browsing products, please check out tzaddimade.com or get in touch.

A sketch of a heart, done by studying an old medical illustration. I was thinking about how most of us have never seen a heart so we have to trust images others have made, even though we each have one. 🤔

Blind contour portraits are always fun.
I made a decent start on a portrait of but I’m too slow for realistic sketching a lively model. 😜

“Refrain from smoking when visiting [at the hospital].” 😜
Things found while searching my vintage books for collage elements. I’m always excited to see slips of paper tucked into books. You never know what they might be!

Exploring some imagery options for this blackout poem.
I adore this illustration style but I think I’ll go a different direction for this one.

The text reads:
“SPRING
dreaming
her heart
yearned
to grow”

I have this paper punch for making photo corners, and it has me thinking… what if I use corner mounts with my blackout poetry instead of doing the very labour-intensive float-mounting? 🤔

Some poems might have details at the corners that I would be sad to hide, but some like this one wouldn’t matter so much. What do you think?

2. Blind contour drawing at my dining table as the daylight fades.
3. The clear space I made today. This is the table that I do most of my daily work at, and I honestly don’t remember the last time it was clean and tidy. 😬🤣
