One of my favorite things about my service calls is timing myself. The moment you explain the task and the device gets put into my hand, I start the timer. For me, it's a race against time. My goal is to find the solution as quickly as possible- the faster I solve it, the faster I can get to explaining what happened and how to avoid it in the future.

A great example: someone accidentally deleted a contact and every text that went with the phone number. They explained, handed the phone to me, timer started. It took me 15 minutes to figure out the problem and I spent the remainder of the time explaining how this could have happened.

Half of the game is racing against time, while the other half is providing advice & explaining what happened- in a way that makes sense.

No jargon. No pressure.
