Last winter ❄️ in the heat of it all in Vancouver when all of the plates were spinning; the trauma, the fear, the holding it all together, this guy shows up out of nowhere!
Luke Barrett was one of the people that I personally didn’t know, (but Brooks does) that came to the rescue immediately. He offered to take care of our acreage driveway for us over the winter and delivered a pile of sandbags so we could effectively get Brooks to and from the house.
If that wasn’t enough, he offered us a generous financial gift to support the Boots & Beer Fundraiser!
He’s got a young family, and one on the way soon and is committed to excellence and I appreciate his integrity and enthusiasm so much! ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🔥❤️‍🩹❤️‍🔥❤️‍🩹
Brooks and I would like to thank Reg Norman Trucking Ltd. from the bottom of our hearts.

Join us, Saturday JUNE 6th, at Cutbank Hall, Fellers Heights for an unforgettable evening at Boots & Beer, a special fundraiser dance party honoring Captain Brooks Gower of the Dawson Creek Fire Department.
Last October, Captain Gower faced a life-threatening workplace accident when he was struck by a vehicle in harsh weather conditions, resulting in severe injuries. Today, he is courageously recovering, and this event celebrates his resilience and the strength of our community.
This night is more than just a fundraiser—it’s a heartfelt gathering to support the DCFD Charitable Society’s new hospital project, to which a donation will be made. We invite everyone, whether you know us personally or not, to come together, enjoy great company, and make a difference.
Picture a summer dress or your best boots and jeans for a lively night filled with a fresh, energetic country band, a stocked $5 cash bar, a delicious dinner, late-night snacks, and a dessert bar that will satisfy every sweet tooth. It’s the perfect date night or outing for folks looking to have fun, dance freely, and share laughter. Throughout the evening, enjoy exciting door prizes, prize draws, a 50/50 raffle, and a silent auction with fantastic items to bid on—all woven seamlessly into the night’s festivities.
Worried about getting home? Step Up 'N' Ride is providing free, safe rides back to Dawson Creek, so you can relax and enjoy the evening worry-free. There will be limited non-alcoholic options available too.
To get your tickets easily, drop by the Dawson Creek Fire Department seven days a week from 8 am to 8 pm with cash. The main doors are directly across from City Hall; just ring the buzzer if it’s after regular hours. Large group tables can be reserved and expect some playful fun from our MCs and chances to win great prizes.
Start planning now—mark your calendars and secure your tickets today by messaging me directly. Tickets are $100 cash and include dinner, dancing, midnight lunch, and live music. For group bookings or corporate sponsorships, reach out, and I’ll arrange your tickets promptly.
Let’s come together to celebrate life, support a vital cause, and dance like nobody’s watching. Message us for tickets!

Over the last 14 years, I have been exploring myself from the inside out. WHY?
Although I didn't realize it, I was having an awakening of sorts. I spent most of my life wondering who I was at my core; was I native or non-native—I was confused. My gram, Adel Doris Spacil, of the Bigcharles and Gladue line, was the last full Cree native in our family and even she wanted us to be more white.
During this awakening, I found the culture I longed to regain for myself and my family, understood why I was assigned to some tough lessons in life, and was guided to create everything that inspired me.
My new short documentary film is a humble start to what will be my lifelong dream of being a filmmaker. At almost 50, I get to start my dream life's work. The even cooler thing is that this project is about community, the energy behind peace, and how you play a role in that too.
If you've read this far, I invite you to join us at the KPAC this Friday, June 7th, for a 7:00pm showing with live music, snacks, and visit with people in your community too.
Come and be a part of initiating personal peace this Friday, your energy will be woven into the movement that is building.
Tickets are by donation:

R O M A N T I C 🥰
I started taking portraits at 17 years old with my first used SLR and annoyed everyone I knew by putting the camera in their face.
I felt like I could always see the beauty in people and loved capturing it. After a zillion years of photography everything from people to oil and gas, to business and real estate, I needed a break. I even tried to come back a few times after that break, but nothing really stuck.
Now I am really into filmmaking and production, which is just an extension of still photography but I stopped and gave this lovely young couple a shoot after their request, and to my delight, THEY WERE AMAZING! Fresh, truly into each other, and gave me ZERO resistance or self-negativity, which was so refreshing.
Because they reminded me of what fun behind the camera is, I am opening my doors to do more portraits for a while if you are interested.
PRO TIP: Dads or husbands, it's the perfect Mother's Day gift or romantic date your partner will be amazed with if you're into surprising your lady.
Please message me if you are interested. Thanks, Jordan Sloane and Alex for being so wonderful and helping me remember one of my greatest joys in life. x0x

🗞‼️ I've been chosen for a brand-new video podcast!
It's an exciting opportunity to share my knowledge with a wider audience, and I'm honored to participate. Let's make the most of this chance to inspire others! 🎙
Last month I announced my new upcoming short documentary film — PEOPLE 4 PEACE, now I will extend that message and interview 6 more local Dawson Creek people who are demonstrating pathways to personal peace.
Nominate someone you believe to be an inspirational leader and teacher who embodies peace in their everyday life and might want to share their wisdom with us!
