“The Price of Peace” is a contemplative fused glass artwork born from the turbulence of our current political landscape, shaped by sorrow. Crafted using only clear glass and red glass powder; symbolizing blood of the innocent, the piece layers together fragmented shards to reflect the fractured state of our world. Each broken fragment tells a story of division, of lives splintered by conflict, yet together they become the familiar curve of a peace sign; a fragile emblem of what still might be. The transparent glass allows light to pass through, a reminder that even in times of darkness, hope persists. But this hope is not without cost. Like the slow, deliberate fusion of glass, peace demands patience, sacrifice, and the courage to face what has been lost. 

This artwork invites you to reflect not only on what peace looks like, but what it demands, and who pays the price. ☮️🩸

✨Kicked off the New Year teaching a “Joyful Hearts” fused glass workshop with the wonderful staff from the Ahkwesàhsne Mohawk Board of Education.
