Its because big ass images slow down your web pages and a slow web page is a bad SEO signal.

And bad means no free visitors from Google.

Look, if you don't have access to tools like Photoshop or Canva, there's plenty of ways to optimize your images.

For example, has an image editor which you can use to crop and adjust images.

You also install a plugin like Imagify.

Or try using Squoosh.app if you enjoy doing manual digital labour.

Okay, one final tip because this is getting long af.

And this is VERY IMPORTANT.

You should ALWAYS rename your files so that its keyword rich and human-readable.

Remember, every image is another opportunity to infuse your business website with keywords and phrases that tell search engines (and AI) what you do and who you serve.

So, don't be lazy.

And fire that crappy web designer that lied to you about building a custom website when all they really did was use an template.

You deserve a website built right.

Hmm... a better question to ask is:

What is the end goal for your website?

For most B2B services, the answer is usually same, same, but different:*

✅️ Demo signups
✅️ Quote/pricing requests
✅️ Service inquiries

To achieve said goals, you may need multiple pages.

Pages like:

💡 Case stories
💡 Demographic LPs
💡 Detailed service LPs
💡 Geolocation LPs
💡 Additional resources (blog, ebooks, freebies, etc.)

In contrast, you might not need any of these.

Maybe a one page website is right for you.

A single page might work if:

💥 You've perfectly productized your service (i.e., its easy to buy/sell online)

💥 You just wanna collect emails for a future product/service launch

💥 You like to keep your business operations super duper simple

So, I guess I answered the question without a proper answer.

And that's because, like all things in business and marketing, the answer is:

It depends.

Just pick something off Alibaba's infinite catalog of Chinese made goods. Set up an amazon account or design a one-click brand with Shopify.

Ask your BFF, ChatGPT, for help deciding a non-greedy profit margin. Then slap a fake discount on Black Fridays, Hannukah, Valentine's Day, and every other holiday that exists across all cultures, religions, and countries.

Oh, and if you've got the budget, hire a few hotties to show off your product on TikTok, IG, and Facebook.

The result?

You now rich af, bro/boss babe! 🤜🤛

B2B services are much more complex.

Partially because B2B companies do a s*** job at describing their services and their offerings online.

In Gartner's "funnel" illustration it illustrates a messy nightmare that includes excessive web searches, vendor comparison, price negotiations, budget approval, legal team's input, and so much more.

It's nothing like consumers who get their paycheck every other Wednesday then spend all of it by Friday and wonder how they're going to pay for groceries and rent.

I guess that's where Klarna and consumer debt comes in to save the day, eh?

Anyway...

B2B services are complex.

I know it.

You know it.

And the product people who just spent their entire paycheck knows it.

𝟭. Sit down with yourself, your team, (and even me) to figure out a better way to make your message and your offerings clear.

𝟮. Rebuild your old, outdated website with a minimal build and pages that explains your services, your process, your prices, and so on.

𝟯. Consider adopting a new marketing channel where you excel at communicating, such as videos, podcast, and guest speaking at events.

Then invest 40 to 120 hours into build a decent website using a SEO-friendly theme (𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴).

I'm secretly a car loving guy.

As a teen, I almost bought a Volkswagen Corrado but instead, came to my senses, got a used Ford Es**rt and used the remaining money to pay for a semester of university.

In contrast, my older brother was gifted my Opa's Plymouth Acclaim.

Was I jealous? Yes.

Because after he pimped it out, he'd stay out until 3 am then come home and brag about all the b****** he b***** in the back seat.

It should be able to:

✅ Convince people you're legit in microseconds
✅ Make it stupidly simple to "get started" or "contact" you

Which is the same as:

✅ The stuff you say in board meetings, events, and P2P conversations.*
✅ The reasons people say, "Ah yes! I totally need this!"
✅ The steps you take to send an invoice and get paid.

(P2P = people to people, not 🍆 to 🍆)

Okay, I know.

My humor is not HR-friendly.

But I have been doing this website stuff for 9+ years.

And yes, you also have to handle fast load times, smart site structure, clear copy, and a 1000+ more web-related tasks.

But at its core:

Your B2B website needs those 3 basic elements I mentioned above.

Then just stick to a simple style, minimal with a lot of white space.

Let the message sing its love song to your customers.

For centuries, the best copywriters commanded attention and dollars.

Whether they were crafting biblical stories to fill hearts with fear and church coffers on Sundays or selling products on the pages of magazines and direct mailers...

𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿.

Just as direct mailers and magazine spreads eventually gave way to the digital funnel, that playground is now being paved over by algorithms.

Right now, we have AI and its leveling the playing field, putting the power of writing in everyone's hands.
