Her words say it so well. Life must be treasured. So thankful for the relationships I've developed through the years.

Family photos are in and I am a puddle 😭. I love how this captures our family of 5 and our amazing city, Calgary that we call home. I love that Lewiston is included….when your kid dies at 6 month old and life doesn’t go as planned these moments can stir up a lot of emotion.

I long to know what Lewiston would be like as a 6 year old boy, what sports he would play and love, would he be taller than his older sister Swayzie? So many questions and unknowns.

Life will throw you unexpected curve balls - expect that. Life will not goes as you planned or dreamed. Expect that. What I know to be true is that the lens and the perspective you choose to see life with will be your reality.

Be where your feet are planted. Embrace these moments, and make them count. Whatever season you are in. Soak it in. Don’t wish it away. Learn the lessons and bring the joy whatever you face. Trust me it possible. In the midst of hard things great joy can be found and brought.

I have realized that what has drawn people to my brand is often my personal work. The way I capture my kids on our routine adventures has been something I think many of you connect with. I have decided to try and offer clients this type of work. I have launched my first set of Creek Mini’s. I am super excited to offer these sessions, they will not be your typical type of mini shoot. They will be focused on fun, connection and heart. Less perfection and more breathe. These sessions are open to couples and families. The cost is $400 plus gst, the sessions last 25 minutes and you get about 20 edited images. The dates so far are August 15, August 23, and 24th. All the sessions will be in the evening. Message me to book your spot or if you have questions. I promise they will be fun.

This year has been transformative for me creatively and I hope this journey serves my clients well. I am trying to be more intentional with every shoot to deliver something special. Something they wouldn't have been able to see on their own.

My pace might be slowing, but my determination to continue blogging is still there. Today I am sharing about the Mini Heroes project I was a part of. See some of the images from the book on my site.

I shared a session on my blog today, and it is a story that really matters to me. It makes more sense when you see all the images come together, so I'd love if you went to the blog to take it all in.

Before I say anything else, I warn you this is a long post, but I hope you make it through. It’s a session that brought my heart great joy. My aim is not to just take pretty pictures. I will always be more delighted by a photo filled with soul, then a photo that is just a documentation of flesh.
