Over the years, I’ve mostly sold digital brush sets on Etsy. But I also know many of you are doing very different things: POD, printables, card designs, or just quietly learning what’s even possible. I did well on scarves in years gone by and some day would like to list my cards.

Truthfully, that’s how I approach a lot of things too. I don’t jump into everything, but I do pay attention when a learning opportunity feels solid and low pressure.

That’s why I’m taking part in the Go Digital on Etsy Summit (Jan 27–30, 2026). It’s completely free, and it’s all about helping creatives understand the digital side of Etsy without overwhelm.

This summit is really for anyone who wants to:

🖋️ That time I painted a coffee table and it sold for $1200!

I collaborated with a furniture maker, and we had this wild idea to turn everyday furniture into art. I painted directly on the table (many of them), sealed it up, and… someone actually bought it at auction.

It was a huge win at the time, and honestly, still one of my favorite reminders that experimenting pays off. I went on to paint many more reclaimed items too; old wooden chairs I would refinish and paint, discarded school projects (mostly nightstands) from the carpentry department (they were made of lovely birch plywood and I could buy for $20 and upcycle. I also did many, many sizes of boxes.

Our little town goes all out on Hallowe’en. One yard has about 20 sculpture 10 feet tall and some are animatronic. It is a sight to behold and the kids in town have a real EXPERIENCE! I guess my years in theatrical design paid off. Have a fun-filled night. Xoxoxoxo

🖋️ Throwback time!

I stumbled across this old newspaper article from years ago, back when I was
balancing teaching, painting, and saying yes to just about everything creative. I
still remember the day and how surreal it felt to see face in the newspaper and
my work in print. These art pieces are still hanging at my daughter’s house. I was doing a lot of collage and plaster then!

Funny how those early moments shape you. I didn’t realize then how much
those tiny steps were building the foundation for the creative business I run
today. ✨ I’ll be sharing a full look at these articles (and a few embarrassing quotes!) on the blog soon if you’d like a peek into where it all began.
