Most people try to make their visuals cinematic… by changing everything.
That’s the mistake.
I tested something simple instead:
Shot Type → Camera / Lens → Lighting
Same character. Same scene.
Only ONE thing changes at a time.
• Shot Type → controls storytelling (wide = environment, close-up = emotion)
• Lens → controls depth & perspective (24mm vs 135mm feels completely different)
• Lighting → controls mood (this alone can change the entire scene)
Same frame. Different decisions.
Completely different result.
If you’re creating content, try this:
Control one variable. Study it. Repeat.
That’s how you actually level up.
