Did you know that Pohl Strategic has a Colombia office?

Raúl, who lives and works in Colombia, has been an integral part of our team for about ten years and continues to provide essential hosting, web development, and technical troubleshooting. Our hybrid work model allows team members to work from home, and abroad, and still be a vital part of our team.

Jason and his daughter recently visited Raúl and his family in Colombia. Trips like this help maintain our friendships and build strong working relationships through in-person collaboration and trust-building. Driving with Raúl in Bogota traffic was a prime example of building trust!

Aside from getting some work done this past week, other fun activities such as attending a massive book fair, taking a pottery class, and zip lining in a bird conservatory were highlights of our time together.

We’re excited to share the launch of Cascade Roofing’s redesigned website.

Our goal was to modernize and simplify their digital presence while improving clarity, usability, and overall user experience across all screen sizes.

The new website does a better job of telling Cascade’s story—who they are, what they do, and what sets them apart. By reducing the site from 20 pages to six, we created a more intuitive experience that makes it easier for users to find what they need, when they need it.

Through our conversations with the owners, Dan Henrotte and Thomas Strahl, it became clear how deeply they value safety, integrity, and doing things the right way, which are central to their brand and are now reflected throughout the site.

A big thank you to the team at Cascade for collaborating with us and trusting the process, and to the team at Pohl Strategic who brought this project to life.

When we first started hearing about this unique project, we knew it was a story we wanted to tell. We love how it gave us the opportunity to meet some of the amazing people behind this special structure, and now we’re very excited to share the story with our readers.

For us, this isn’t just a profile of a new building, it’s a case study about what happens when:

We had meaningful conversations and made strong connections at BUILDEX 2026.

It was great to reconnect with old friends in the industry and meet new architects, engineers, and builders who are working in Western Canada.

Our favorite talk from the Main Stage was called “Design and Construction of the PNE Freedom Mobile Arch: A Long-Span Timber Landmark.”

A few key takeaways from that standout session were:

- Long-span mass timber is no longer experimental but is becoming a defining feature of landmark projects

- Engineering complexity and architectural vision must work in close collaboration from day one

- Sustainability is moving beyond messaging, with embodied carbon and material performance being pushed to the center of the conversation

- Public-facing projects are reshaping how clients view timber as both a structural solution and an architectural statement

What stood out most? The importance of collaboration.

Projects at this scale demand early alignment between architects, structural engineers, fabricators, and construction teams. The firms leading the industry are the ones integrating design, engineering, and ex*****on — not treating them as silos.

We’re grateful for the conversations, the inspiration, and the opportunities yet ahead.
