2025/2026 INTAKE APPLICATION ADVERT
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following programmes offered at Francistown College of Technical and Vocational Education for the year 2025/26. Non-Citizen Applicants are encouraged to apply.
Programmes advertised will commence in July 2025.
1. THE PROGRAMMES ARE AS INDICATED IN THE TABLE BELOW
Post Graduate Diploma in Technical & Vocational Education.
A Bachelor’s Degree in any Technical and/or Vocational field or equivalent.
NB: The programme is self-sponsored unless progression sponsorship has been awarded.
12 months
Certificate in Technical and Vocational Education.
National Craft Certificate (NCC), Diploma and or Higher National Diploma in any Vocational and Technical Fields or equivalent.

Diploma in Accountancy and Business Studies.
Certificate in Accountancy and Business Studies (CABS) or equivalent.

National Diploma in Secretarial Studies.
National Certificate in Secretarial Studies (NCSS) or equivalent.

Higher National Diploma in Secretarial Studies.
National Diploma in Secretarial Studies (NDSS) or equivalent.

Diploma in Hospitality Management.
National Craft Certificate (NCC) in Hotel & Catering or
Certificate in Hospitality Operations qualification at Level 5 or
BGCSE with a pass or better in Hospitality and Tourism Studies or equivalent.
Work experience in the related field will be an added advantage.

Diploma in Culinary Arts.
National Craft Certificate (NCC) in Chef or
BGCSE with a pass or better in Food and Nutrition, Hospitality and Tourism Studies or equivalent.
BTEP Certificate in Hospitality Operations, Certificate in Cooking or International Qualification in Culinary Arts at Certificate Level 5 will be considered as an added advantage.

Diploma in Travel Management.
Certificate in Travel & Tourism or
qualification in Travel and Tourism at Certificate Level 5 or BGCSE with a pass or better in Hospitality and Tourism Studies or equivalent.

BGCSE or equivalent with a Pass in Geography/ History or any Business related subject.

Diploma in Systems Administration.
Certificate in ICT (Information and Communications Technology),BGCSE or equivalent with 35 points, a credit in computer studies and English Language.
OVC/SEN with 31 points and a credit in Computer Studies and Pass in English Language.

Diploma in Computer Networking
Certificate in ICT (Information and Communications Technology),BGCSE or equivalent with 35 points, a credit in computer studies and English Language.
OVC/SEN with 31 points and a credit in Computer Studies and Pass in English Language.

Certificate in Applied Laboratory Science
BGCSE or equivalent with at least a pass in English Language and Mathematics and grade CC or better in Science double award or D or better in any two pure sciences (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics).

Certificate in Clothing Design and Textile
BTEP Foundation in Clothing Design and Textiles or Trade Test C in Dress Making or Fabric Dyeing and Printing qualification. BGCSE or equivalent with a pass or better in Fashion and Fabrics, Art & Design, Design and Technology, Home Management and English Language.

Certificate in Sport, Recreation and Leisure
Foundation in Sport, Recreation and Leisure or equivalent level of qualification.
Sports experience and participation
BGCSE or equivalent with a D or better pass in Mathematics and Science-related subjects
15 months
Certificate in Beauty Therapy
Foundation in Hair Dressing & Beauty Therapy or BGCSE (‘O’ Level) with Minimum pass of D or better pass in Science & English Language or equivalent.
Work Experience will be an added advantage.

Certificate in Hairdressing
Foundation in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy or equivalent qualification, Or BGCSE (‘O’ Level) with Minimum pass of E or better in Science and English Language or equivalent.
Work Experience will be an added advantage.

2. HOW TO APPLY
(a) Interested applicants should complete the attached application form and attach certified copies of educational certificates and transcripts, Omang, or the biodata page of the national passport for non-citizens.
(b) Photocopied application forms are accepted.
(c) All applicants must attach at least one reference/profile and statement with records of all achievements from previous school/rehabilitation or special unit attended.
(d) Reference letter confirming 9 months’ work/attachment experience with company stamp.
(e) Special needs Groups are encouraged to apply.
(f) All Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC), Remote Area Communities (RAC) and Special Education Needs (SEN) must provide confirmation of status from relevant authorities.
NB:​Faxed applications will NOT be considered.
3. CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION
• Only successful applicants will be responded to.
• Failure to disclose accurate information will result in the applicant being disqualified and their admission revoked.
• In the event that the College discovers that the candidate is enrolled for any qualification here stated during the course of the year, such a candidate will be immediately withdrawn from the College and will have to seek alternative sponsorship.
Preference will be given to applicants who completed BGCSE or equivalent within the last two (2) years and have never been admitted to any tertiary institution for any course before or benefitted in Government sponsorship (DTEF) before.
Citizen applicants are advised to apply for government sponsorship using the attached sponsorship application form.
Self-sponsored citizen learners will only be registered upon payment or proof of payment of tuition fee for a semester or year.
Non-Citizen applicants will only be registered upon submission of a valid study permit and proof of payment for all the appropriate fees.
All candidates possessing non Botswana accredited qualifications must have them validated through Botswana Qualifications Authority.
