WHAT IS BRAND STRATEGY?
When you talk about brand strategy there are two terms involved: “brand” and “strategy”.
First let’s start defining those terms:
BRAND: a brand is not a logo; it’s a person’s gut feeling about a product, service or organization.
STRATEGY: simply means a plan.
BRAND STRATEGY: means a long term plan to create a successful brand.
In other words what kind of plan do you have in place for the success of your brand? You need to have a plan you can follow so that don’t operate your business on a whim. You need to be on point and consistent about what you want to do and express it as your strategy.
Your brand strategy defines who you are, what you do, who you do it for. It is a promise to your audience and the experience you want to give them.
And while it includes your logo, colour palette and slogan, those are only creative elements that convey your brand. Instead, your brand lives in every day-to-day interaction you have with your market.
Before designing visuals and identity, one must devise a well thought out strategy which will act as a foundation for the decisions you make when designing the identity of your brand.
Strong brands tell powerful stories that are believed by customers, staff and investors helping your business to be continuously successful.
It’s never too late to start embracing strategic design for your business and turn it into a valuable brand loved by all.
