Getting back to digital painting after a long break - feels like returning home. I'm always sketching on paper and on my mobile device, but wasn't posting anything for too long. Fired up ArtRage again, as it always flows well for me. Started on my phone and then brought the sketch to my PC to refine it. It was about time to shake off the rust and explore some new ideas and workflow.

🇺🇸 Today is a day to take advantage and make a bittersweet TBT (yeah... I posted this on LinkedIn last thursday). A few years ago, I had the opportunity to exhibit some works and set them for sale at Livraria Cultura, one of the most traditional national bookstore chains. At the time, in addition to the main store in Conjunto Nacional, they invested in the nerd segment with a separate space for comics, RPGs, and the like, and an art department, with an amazing selection of books and a posture to invest in local talents.

In recent years, the company entered a crisis after a drought in the publishing market, accumulated debts, and entered into judicial recovery, a scenario that culminated in the declaration of bankruptcy by the Justice of São Paulo. Today, news came out that the company is appealing this decision and that they will face this new phase of the crisis. I hope that they manage to find their path again and that new artists may have the chance to experience the fertile scene for creativity that they painted in the past.

🇧🇷 Hoje é um dia de aproveitar e fazer um TBT agridoce (sim, este é um post de quinta passada que fiz no LinkedIn). Alguns anos atrás, tive a oportunidade de expor alguns trabalhos e deixá-los à venda na Livraria Cultura, uma das mais tradicionais redes nacionais. Na época, além da loja principal no Conjunto Nacional, investiram no segmento nerd com um espaço separado para quadrinhos, RPGs e afins, e um espaço de artes, com uma seleção sensacional de livros e investimento em artistas locais.

Nos últimos anos, a rede entrou numa crise após uma seca no mercado editorial, acumulou dívidas e entrou em recuperação judicial, cenário que culminou na declaração de falência pela Justiça de São Paulo. Hoje saiu a notícia de que a empresa está recorrendo desta decisão e que irão enfrentar esta nova fase da crise. Tenho esperanças de que consigam reencontrar o seu caminho e que novos artistas possam ter a chance conhecer a cena fértil para a criatividade que eles haviam pintado no passado.
