The lead comes in at 9pm. You call back the next morning. They'd already hired someone else — and nothing was ever wrong with the lead.

The minutes between a form fill and a human voice is the least-measured number in most businesses. It's also where the money leaks.

Desmond Dixon is the founder of Secret Agents, an AI marketing agency he runs while living abroad, currently out of Rio de Janeiro. He trained as a chemical engineer before moving into sales, and he still thinks like one: find the constraint, then attack it.
