Scaling TikTok Shop UK Through Affiliates | Before & After
For the past two months or so, we’ve been experimenting with how far we can take the scaling potential of TikTok Shop UK when affiliates are included as a major growth driver rather than a side option.
As a precursor to really engaging with affiliates, the business has been doing pretty steady numbers in December. We were doing about £27.8k in GMV with 1,531 orders. Decent numbers, but still pretty reliant on us as a business and our own ability to get the word out about the business.
Come January, we decided to really amp up the affiliate side of things. We went in more aggressively with more creators, more seeded products, a more competitive structure, and a real push on content and LIVE.
And the results were immediate.
Our numbers went from £34.4k in GMV, a 23.7% increase from the previous month; orders went up by nearly 37%; items sold followed the same trajectory. The really interesting figure, though, was LIVE, which went up by over 1,600%.
What’s really important here is that nothing has really changed on the product side. No real significant changes in price; no real significant increases in ad spend.
What’s changed is that we now have multiple creators promoting the same products at the same time. And that’s when the system really starts to behave differently.
TikTok Shop UK today is not just about running ads or having a really good listing. It’s all about affiliates. Even if the prices are higher than the competitors, you can still do better with affiliates.
Affiliates today aren’t just a side option; they’re the main driver for growth in this business.
