In a major blow to Sam Altman, Microsoft plans to shift MS Copilot to usage based pricing, swapping out OpenAI for the open source model DeepSeek to cut costs. If trillionaire Microsoft can’t afford the OpenAI pricing then it is time to understand how expensive these things are and other industries may follow the same path soon to cut prices.
