🚨 Fiverr Update: Professions Feature is Being Removed (Late August)
Fiverr has officially announced that the "Professions" feature will be discontinued later this August.
❌ What's Being Removed?
1. Profession listings
2. Profession-specific seller pages
3. Professions browsing and search experience
This means clients will no longer discover freelancers through Professions, and once your current Profession orders are completed, you won't receive new orders through that feature.
✅ What's Staying the Same?
⭐ Reviews
⭐ Ratings
⭐ Order History
⭐ Success Score
⭐ Seller Level
⭐ Your Fiverr Account & Gigs
The good news is that "all reviews earned through Professions will remain on your seller profile", so your hard-earned social proof isn't going anywhere.
What Should Sellers Do?
Although Fiverr will handle the removal automatically, this is the perfect time to:
Optimize your Gig titles, descriptions, keywords, and FAQs.
Update your seller profile to better highlight your expertise.
Strengthen your portfolio and continue collecting quality Gig reviews.
Create niche-specific Gigs to improve discoverability.
As a MERN Stack, React, Next.js, WordPress, Webflow, and Full Stack Developer, I see this as a reminder that well-optimized Gigs, a strong portfolio, excellent client reviews, and consistent service quality are more important than ever.
This isn't a penalty or a downgrade—it's a platform-wide change. The focus now shifts even more toward delivering value through your Gigs and maintaining a strong seller profile.
Let's keep building, learning, and growing together. 🚀
