The journey has officially begun! 💻✨

We’ve successfully completed our first session of C-ALPHA 1.0 with enthusiastic participation and an engaging learning environment.

From understanding the basics to taking the first step into programming logic, it was an exciting start for all our participants.

To celebrate , IEEE Computer Society Eastern University Student Branch Chapter hosted a small informal session led by our Vice Chairperson Md. Abir Hasan on Introduction to Quantum Physics & Quantum Computers.

He took us back to the very beginning of quantum physics — from the debate of a stationary vs. expanding universe, to how we arrived at today’s quantum era. He then broke down why classical computers, running on binary logic, fall behind quantum computers that harness qubits.

Key principles of quantum computing like superposition, entanglement, and interference were explained in a way that made the “weird” feel wonderful. 💡

The session also touched on current trends — photonic quantum computers where clusters of entangled photons do the heavy lifting. Abir even shared insights from his recent work on Mapping of Cluster of Photons using Monte Carlo Algorithm in 2D space, using Thallium doped Sodium Iodide scintillation.

Quantum isn’t just the future — it’s already happening, and we’re thrilled to learn it together.
