Planning a complete workspace upgrade and looking for suggestions from people who have already gone through this journey 👨💻
Current goal is to build a clean, productivity-focused software engineering workspace with a dual-monitor setup, standing desk, pegboard, and better ergonomics. I'll also be creating some workspace/coding content, so aesthetics matter too.
Keyboard (can't decide 😅)
- Royal Kludge RK84
- Aula F75 Pro
- Attack Shark X75
- Attack Shark X87
Mouse
- Logitech M720 Triathlon
Standing Desk
- MXG Dual Motor
- Boost
- MaximusTronics
- Dexx.pk LIFT X3, their frame looks solid but its out of budget for now
Desk Size
Trying to decide between:
- 4.5 ft × 2 ft
- 6 ft × 2.5 ft
Monitor Setup
- 2 × 27" 4K monitors
- Dual monitor arm
Initially I was planning to go all-in on a Samsung Odyssey G9, but after some research it feels like it might be overkill for my current needs (and budget 😅). So I'm now leaning towards starting with a dual 27" monitor setup on a dual monitor arm and then maybe upgrading to a 49" ultrawide later if I feel the need.
Accessories
- MXG Pegboard
- Monitor light bar
- Desk mat
- Cable management tray
- Headphone holder
- Wireless charging stand
- Laptop stand
- LED desk lamp
Questions:
1. Which keyboard would you choose and why?
2. Is the Logitech M720 still the best productivity budget mouse ( gaming is not my priority )?
3. Which standing desk brand has been most reliable in Pakistan?
4. Is 6 ft × 2.5 ft worth it, or is it overkill for a dual 27" setup?
5. Which 27" 4K monitors would you recommend (new or used)?
6. What workspace accessory ended up being surprisingly useful?
7. What did you buy that you later regretted?
Would love to see photos of your setups as well for inspiration 🙌
