🚨JUST IN: ⚖️A federal judge has granted final approval to Anthropic's $1.5 billion copyright settlement, resolving lawsuits brought by authors who alleged the company used pirated books to train its Claude AI models. The agreement is the largest known copyright settlement in U.S. history.

U.S. District Judge Araceli Martinez-Olguin rejected objections from authors seeking a larger payout, ruling that criticisms of the settlement amount were not supported by a realistic assessment of the risks and potential outcomes of taking the case to trial.

The settlement brings to a close one of the most closely watched legal battles over how AI companies acquire training data, an issue that has sparked numerous lawsuits across the generative AI industry.

While the agreement resolves this particular dispute, broader legal questions surrounding copyright, licensing, and the use of creative works for AI training remain unsettled as similar cases continue to move through courts.

The decision marks a significant milestone for the AI industry, highlighting both the growing legal scrutiny of foundation models and the increasing financial stakes surrounding copyrighted training data. ⚖️📚🤖💰

“China is using our (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google ) IP to train their AI”

It is really frustrating when China uses all your hard work, investment and IP to train their AI systems.

Wait, what happened? Isn’t this just “fair use”?

-books were scraped

-art was ingested

-music was scraped

-films were scraped and ingested

Monarrch is where the lawful AI economy begins—and the new content economy is built.

After the Tennessee AI Summit, we’re hosting a private executive reception and live demo of AIR-OS — Monarrch’s AI Royalty Operating System.

This isn’t a concept or a panel discussion. It’s a working system.

We’ll walk through:
• How rights (voice, image, likeness) are registered
• How AI usage is authorized and tracked
• How audit trails are created
• How royalties are enforced and actually paid

The ELVIS Act created the legal framework. The real question is whether those rights can function at scale.

This is our answer: infrastructure that turns law into automated royalty flows.

If you’re building in AI, managing rights, or shaping policy, this is where the conversation moves from theory to ex*****on.

Monarrch is honored to participate in the inaugural , joining leaders shaping the future of AI, policy, and digital rights.

This year’s Summit reflects a broader shift toward practical AI governance, with contributions from U.S. Chief Technology Officer Ethan Klein and emerging federal frameworks, including Senator Blackburn’s forthcoming initiatives incorporating the TRAIN Act and the NO FAKES Act.

In conjunction with the Summit, Monarrch will host a private executive reception and live demonstration on Wednesday evening at The Palm.

Building the AI Royalty Layer: From the ELVIS Act to Infrastructure

During this session, we will showcase AIR-OS — Monarrch’s AI Royalty Operating System — the first end-to-end platform designed to operationalize Tennessee ELVIS Act compliance and enable lawful AI at scale.

AIR-OS is a live system currently in operation. The demonstration will cover how rights are registered, how AI-generated usage is authorized and tracked, how activity is audited, and how royalties are enforced and distributed across the full lifecycle.

The ELVIS Act established legal protections for voice, image, and likeness. The next critical step is enforcement at scale. AIR-OS is designed to bridge that gap by translating legal frameworks into automated, enforceable royalty flows.

Look forward to engaging with builders, rights holders, and policymakers working to advance responsible, scalable AI systems.

There’s something quietly powerful about being in a room like this.

No noise. No posturing. Just people who care deeply about what they’re building—and about doing it well.

Monarrch is what it is because of the people behind it. Thoughtful, honest, and willing to put in the work when it counts.

Grateful to be part of it. Not something we take lightly.

Looking ahead to the Tennessee AI Summit—another step forward, together.
