On Monday 27 July 2026, a test Critical Alert will be sent to all compatible mobile devices in Australia. If you're in Sydney that will be 2pm AEST.

On Monday 27 July 2026, a test Critical Alert will be sent to all compatible mobile devices in Australia.The alert will override 'silent' and 'do not disturb' device settings. It will appear like a system notification on screens and make a loud siren sound for 10 seconds.

This is a really common request I have from clients - The complaint is their iPhone does not ring for long enough so they miss the call or it goes to voicemail too quickly. This is a carrier setting rather than an iPhone setting as such. The example below is an iPhone on Telstra: Extend ring time
