A hotel is not a shop with beds.
It sells a perishable product, at a price that changes daily, through a mix of direct and third-party channels. It also answers to owners, brands and management companies.
That takes a particular kind of marketing knowledge.
A generalist agency can learn hotels. The question is how much of your budget goes towards that learning curve.
One Brisbane hotel switched to OmniHyper from a generalist agency. Measured through the brand’s and hotel’s booking systems against the same period the previous year, direct revenue increased by $322,788 in the first 90 days and $910,066 over the first 12 months.
Before you sign with any agency, including us, ask:
What share of your clients are hotels?
Has anyone on your team worked inside a hotel, a hotel group or a hotel tech company?
Who else works on our hotel at brand level, and how will you avoid duplicating their work?
How will you prove the return in terms our owner will accept?
Can I speak to two hotels you have worked with for more than three years?
I’ve put together five questions to ask, plus the red flags to watch for, in my latest article: (Link in bio to our website of blogs)
