A rebrand worth celebrating. 🎉

Carnival Studio has been working with the team behind one of Australia’s favourite cultural festivals — and we couldn’t be more proud of how it’s come together.

The Spanish Film Festival is now the HSBC Spanish & Latin American Film Festival presented by Palace, and with that evolution came a fresh identity built to match.

At the heart of it is Jamon — a hand-drawn typeface Carnival developed from scratch. Warm, relaxed, and just a little bit expressive, it draws on the spirit of the Latino community while holding onto the Moorish elegance that’s always defined the festival’s look.

The new identity is live across the 2026 campaign: poster, programme, and in-theatre banners at Palace Cinemas nationwide.

Huge love and thanks to the and teams. 🙏❤️

Special credit and thanks to Ana May for the logo and programme art direction, and for the design and development of custom Jamon typeface.

Inspired by true events, WOLFRAM tells the story of a family bond stronger than steel.

According to Director Warwick Thornton, “It’s a story that is brutal, but also heartwarming. Ultimately, it’s about the most important thing of all – family.”

Working on the Wolfram campaign across key art, trailer and socials has been an incredibly collaborative and enjoyable experience, and we are proud to reveal the character poster set featuring some of the lead cast.

The headline of this series (Harden The F**k Up And Have A Good Cry) came directly from Warwick and speaks to 1930s Central Australia, where, despite the hardships, family and love endure. We ran with it and developed the series of portraits beautifully captured by , featuring hand-printed typography by . Huge thank you to the incredibly talented for the beautiful imaging.

WHALE SHARK JACK ☀️ True friendship dives deep. ✨
A Stan Original Film - Only on Stan, April 2

were brought onto Whale Shark Jack in pre-production to develop concepts that would guide the film’s asset capture from day one. Two creative directions were explored to connect with families and younger audiences – both centred on the heart of the story: friendship. 🐋💙

One of the biggest challenges was in balancing the sheer scale of a whale shark alongside our talent. From the outset, we shaped a warm, family-friendly campaign that champions connection, ecological awareness, and a proudly Australian feel.

And much credit to and for continuing to champion Australian stories and children’s television. 👏🇦🇺

A huge thank you to the Stan Originals team for their support and collaboration, and to our creative team for helping bring the key art to life.

Our key art for KILLER WHALE has been released ahead of its digital and limited theatrical release.

This was one of those projects that reminds you why process matters.
When we began developing the poster, the film was still deep in post-production. The orca was largely CGI. There was no finished creature, no final water simulations, no locked “look” to lean on. Just a script, two rising stars, a styrofoam rock on blue-screen and a strong sense that this needed to feel elevated.

Creature thrillers can easily slip into B-grade territory. With Virginia Gardner and Mel Jarnson leading the film, and an underlying ecological message driving the story, we felt this deserved something more cinematic.

So before we designed anything, we aligned on positioning.

Is this a monster movie, or a revenge story?
Are audiences meant to fear Ceto — or empathise with her?
Once that intention was clear, everything else became simpler.

We developed concepts that defined the emotional architecture early — camera angle, threat direction, how much of the orca to reveal, and how strong and connected the women should feel. By the time we got to the shoot (with the actors perched on a styrofoam rock in a studio), we weren’t guessing; it was about executing a clearly defined idea. The talent and photographer know exactly what we’re trying to achieve, and we can put our energy into delivering the best performances and technical ex*****on during the shoot.

Thank you to Chloe and at for trusting the process, and a huge shout-out to the team who brought this one to life, including , and .fell . Thank you also to for help in the early concept development.
