If your building's financial year ends June 30, AGM season is just around the corner. Here's what committee members need to know:
π When is your AGM due?
NSW: by 31 August (within 2 months under the SSMA 2015)
QLD: by 30 September (within 3 months under the BCCM Act)
VIC: within 15 months of your last AGM (Owners Corporations Act 2006)
π° Financial statements and a proposed levy budget must be distributed to owners in advance.
π³οΈ Owners can vote on motions, elect committee members, and raise items from the floor.
π Minutes must be distributed within the required timeframe after the meeting.
The AGM is where a year of decisions gets scrutinised in a single meeting. Being prepared makes all the difference.
